Vanessa Portuphy is the author of Into the Eye of Mental Illness, a deeply personal and poetic work that shares her lived experience with mental illness. For over 40 years, she has navigated the northern crosswinds (mental illness) of her thoughts, while maintaining balance through prayer, a sense of humor, exercising, and medicating. Her hope is to inform and educate others about mental illness through zingers, inspirational insights, and explorations of a mentally ill heritage within the realm of poetry.
